This painting is a part of the Joshua Tree Series, a collection of paintings created on location in the Joshua Tree National Park. The hues are inspired by the Mojave Desert palette, subdued earthy tones with pops of greens, reds, and pinks. The whimsical lines and shapes are abstract interpretations of Joshua Tree’s, the gradation of the ancient boulders, and diverse desert flora. The Joshua Tree landscape inspires a a sense of wonder, as well as playful ease. These paintings encapsulate that energy, holding a glimmer of what it’s like to be in the midst of something wild and wonderful.
